There is a notable difference in alcohol between the 2019 Malbec and the 2020. 2019 is a fresher year, and the wine comes through as fresher and more balanced, more mineral and austere, and more serious. It has some dusty tannins that would welcome some food. Drink 2022-2027. —L.G.
What We Thought: This food-friendly Malbec leads with a spicy blackberry nose and moves to a soft, smooth palate that is full-bodied without being heavy and displays more ripe blackberry fruit along with notes of black tea and baking spice. Supple tannins and nice acidity round this into a Malbec that will pair with more than just grilled meat.
