This Chinon offers a bright ruby‑red hue with violet highlights. The nose reveals ripe dark berries—cherry and blackcurrant—with liquorice, cedar, and subtle pepper notes. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, rounded and structured, featuring elegant, supple tannins, refreshing acidity, and a clean, savoury finish. Grilled meats, charcuterie, roast lamb, and game. Elegant enough for poultry or mushroom dishes, and lovely with medium-aged cheeses.
Philippe Alliet has produced a clean, pure 2023 Tradition, offering aromas of dark wild berries, licorice, coniferous forest and cedar, followed by a moderately weighted, tense and elegant palate that is framed by powdery tannins and fine acidity, concluding with a fine-sculpted finish. It's easy to drink, pleasant and super affordable. Matured in concrete tanks.
