This wine offers concentrated, lush aromas of blackberry, huckleberry, sandalwood, and dried rose petal on the nose. The midpalate has flavors of sour cherry, raspberry, black currant confiture, blood-orange zest and vanilla pastry cream wafting into spicy dark chocolate, dried herbs, medium tannins and a dry finish. —T.P.
What We Thought: This wine is dense and dark with a floral red raspberry nose and a very robust, full-bodied palate of ripe blackberry and plum fruit with big, well-structured tannins that mellow with a little air, give this a decant.
