This offers a sensational bouquet of ripe red and black currant fruits as well as chocolate, smoked tobacco, spice box, dried flowers, and classy oak. Young, up-front, full-bodied, and perfectly balanced, it has incredible purity of fruit, the sweet, velvety tannins that are common in the vintage, no hard edges, and a great finish. What We Thought: A classic Napa nose of cigar box cedar and cassis leads to a full-bodied, silky-smooth palate filled with ultra-ripe blackberry fruit and dramatic notes of dark chocolate and vanilla supported by the supplest of tannins.
