Lovely blackberry, milk chocolate powder, and black truffle on the nose. Full-bodied with firm and fine, chewy tannins that are polished and long. Persistent on the finish. This needs until at least 2027 to show you its seriousness.
What We Thought: The 2019 Château Lafleur-Gazin is a pretty medium to deep ruby color. It hops from the glass with aromas of dark cocoa, dark cherries, and dark berry fruit. On the palate, this wine is medium-bodied. The flavors steer toward blackberry and blueberry with tobacco leaf and cocoa notes. The balance of this wine is terrific. Lovely acidity keeps it fresh. A gentle tannic grip relaxes into a long, pleasant finish. A pleasure to drink.
