Balanced and complex, showing ripeness and integrated oak, plus notes of nutmeg, walnut, cedar, and crushed almond. This Reserva with 5% Graciano evokes Christmas cake with vanilla and cinnamon spice dancing over the palate with dried fruit in the background. Textbook. Drink 2023-2048.
What We Thought: This has a big, perfumed black cherry nose and a smooth, medium-to-full-bodied palate filled with very ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit and classic Rioja notes of leather, licorice, and tobacco, finishing with supple but drying tannins.
