A tightly-meshed red, plushly textured despite its dense tannic frame thanks to a swath of macerated black raspberry and cherry fruit, wild sage, singed orange peel, and red licorice aromas and flavors. There's good tension, focus, and freshness here, but the fruit and spice range, as well as an underpinning of smoky mineral, will be on full display with additional time in the bottle.
