This wine is concentrated with aromas of mulberry, mulled spices, and pink grapefruit. The palate has flavors of blackberry confiture, molasses, red apple skin, and fresh caramel intertwined with cinnamon, orange slices, and brown sugar. Pair with molten chocolate cake. —T.P.

What We Thought: Deceptively robust in spite of being vinted in a slightly lighter style than many old vines, it makes up in character and fruit what it lacks in weight. Aromas of blueberries, raspberries, and more big fruit frame the nose, and the medium-bodied palate is filled with very smooth, ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit with notes of black pepper and baking spice rounding things out.
