Partially aged in new and used oak barrels, it’s purple in the glass. The nose features notes of crushed plum and violets alongside hints of mountain herbs. Indulgent and juicy, the nimble, refreshing palate has subtly taut, chalky tannins. This pleasant red wine, made in a modern style, offers excellent value for the money. Drink 2023-2032. —J.H.
