This wine is concentrated, with aromas of black currant, boysenberry, huckleberry jam, dried herbs, and rose petals on the nose. The flavors on the palate are blackberry-cherry confiture, simmering spices, dried apricot, and star anise, cascading into mocha, brandied raspberry, and a spicy, dry finish. —T.P.
This classic Lodi Zinfandel hides its heat well (15.9%). It is robust, full-bodied, and filled with ultra-ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit, some peppery spice, and a touch of dark chocolate, with a very smooth finish.
