Pleasantly approachable aromas of blackberry sauce, mace, and dried ginger meet with loamy soil on the nose of this bottling. Leathery tannins frame the palate, where dark rich fruit and asphalt flavors cling to a long finish. —M.K.
What We Thought: This has a big, ripe blackberry nose and a smooth, full-bodied palate filled with blackberry and black raspberry fruit, along with a touch of vanilla and baking spice supported by supple but evident tannins and some light acidity.
