A palpable example of the elegance, consistency and regularity that characterize Marqués de Murrieta winery. This wine shows the incredible personality of the Ygay Estate and summarizes perfectly what happens during a whole vegetative cycle. It's is made with Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano and Garnacha. Each variety adds its personality to obtain a balanced wine after the barrel aging.
Classic Rioja character with chewy red fruits and minerality; combines power and finesse.
I believe 2018 was a very good vintage to implement this change. It's perfumed, fresh, elegant and medium-bodied, with a velvety texture. Superb!
Fresh and elegant, with a mouthful of ripe, crushed cherry and red currant fruit, this medium-bodied red is framed by crisp tannins and a minerally underpinning. Enticing hints of eucalyptus, dried fig and cigar box play on the finish. Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha Tinta. Drink now through 2028.
Here's What We Thought:
Garnet red in the glass with a swirl of ripe cherry, plum, and a wink of tobacco and spice that teases your nose. On the palate, silky Tempranillo meets hints of cedar, balsamic, and warm Mediterranean herbs, finishing long and polished. Classic Rioja elegance—bold enough to command attention, smooth enough to sip all evening. Pairs perfectly with: jamón ibérico, roasted lamb, mushroom risotto, aged Manchego, or a hearty pork stew with paprika. 🍷
