This dark-purple-hued wine is opulent, with aromas of boysenberries, blue fruits, frankincense, violets, and spiced toasty oak on the nose. The flavors on the palate are blackberry compote, white nectarine, allspice, and molasses interlaced with chicory, milk chocolate, and a dry, silky finish. Pair with lamb chops. —T.P.
What We Thought: This robust blend is inky-dark with a floral nose and a full-bodied, brambly palate of ultra-ripe blackberry and plum fruit with notes of very dark chocolate. This is a great BBQ or summer party wine.
