The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful, old-school wine. Dark cherry, plum, scorched earth, game, licorice, and tar give 2018 plenty of complexity. Big, potent tannins lend quite a bit of muscle, but there is more than enough fruit and overall balance to support many years in the cellar. Dark red fruit, mint, spice, and licorice linger. What We Thought: Aromas of black cherry and cedary cigar box frame the nose of this classic Napa Cabernet. Silky smooth and full-bodied, the palate has ripe blackberry fruit along with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, and a little espresso, all supported by yieldingly soft tannins.
