This is deep and opulent, with aromas of baked blackberry, black currant, dried herbs, potpourri, and molasses on the nose. The flavors on the palate are boysenberry coulis, clove, habañero jelly, and supple, silky tannins on the finish. Best Buy. —T.P.
What We Thought: A little reminiscent of some of the big Zin blends of the 1990s, this wine has a big black fruit nose and a ultra-ripe, full-bodied palate of ripe, almost jammy, black berry and plum fruit along with notes of licorice and vanilla and supple tannins that keep it smooth right through the finish.
