Sourced from four of the best Red Mountain sites, Grand Ciel, Ciel du Cheval, Upchurch, and Klipsun vineyards. This wine was a proposal to take some of the top fruit that goes into the classic Delille wine, D2. This is an elevation with a focus on some of the state's best Cabernet sites. Florally perfumed aromatics, rich black cherries and dried violets, and tart blackberries with mint. It is a gorgeous showing of what can be done with restraint and Red Mountain Cabernet. —C.P.
Generous and elegantly polished, with rich blackberry, mocha espresso, and black olive flavors that build a fleshy texture on the long finish. Drink now through 2032. —T.F.
What We Thought: Inky-dark with an intense black fruit nose, this big Cabernet is thick, full-bodied, and filled with ultra-ripe blackberry fruit, strong notes of dark chocolate, and a little espresso supported by firm but supple tannins that guarantee a long future in the cellar.
