It has a terrific bouquet of currants, lead pencil shavings, spice, and a touch of flowers. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, round, supple, beautifully balanced red with integrated tannins and a great finish. Its purity and balance are spot on.
What We Thought: This serious Bordeaux-style right bank blend has more structure than you usually expect from Washington. The Merlot dominates this, adding big notes of dark chocolate to the ripe blackberry and vanilla, all supported by supple but serious tannins that make this a cellar candidate.
