This is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah that was raised in a mix of new barrels and concrete tank. Its deep purple hue is followed by a gorgeous array of ripe blackberries, peppery herbs, violets, and perfectly integrated spicy oak. While clearly a more modern styled wine, it's flawlessly balanced, medium to full-bodied, has fine tannins, and incredibly well-integrated oak, tannins, and acidity. This estate plays at an incredibly high level, and this brilliant 2021 will be loved by both the modern and traditionalist out there. Bravo.
What We Thought: A spicy, brambly, back cherry nose leads to a silky-smooth palate filled with black cherry and blackberry fruit, notes of black pepper and baking spice, light food-friendly acids and some ultra-supple tannins.
