A wine that expresses the soul of Abruzzo, fruit of the passion of the Di Properzio family, who have cultivated the hills of Spoltore since 1990. It expresses aromas of black cherry, strawberry jam, aromatic herbs, tea leaves, and light spicy notes in the background. Intense ruby with violet reflections. On the palate, it is soft and intense, with smooth and compact tannins; it closes with a slightly savory finish with mentholated aftertaste and a pleasant persistence.
Dark and austere as expected from montepulciano grapes, with dark chocolate, black fruit and earth on the nose. Firm, dusty tannins with a thick texture, a medium body and crisp acidity. It will need time. Best after 2026.
Here's What We Thought:
Deep ruby Montepulciano that feels like a hug from Abruzzo — ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs, wrapped in soft tannins and juicy acidity. Rustic yet charming, it pairs perfectly with grilled lamb skewers, rigatoni with roasted vegetables, pasta all’Amatricianah, or a charcuterie spread with Pecorino. Easy to sip, and somehow both comforting and sophisticated at the same time. 🍷🥩🧀
