Ripe stone fruits, honeyed citrus, flowers, and some chalky mineral notes all define the 2022 Viré-Clessé Gentilhommes (wax cap), a balanced, fresh, focused white that has beautiful overall balance and a great finish. This was brought up mostly in stainless steel with 40% in foudre, and it's a custom cuvée made for Kysela. It's a smoking good Viré-Clessé to drink over the coming 4 to 6 years or so.
What We Thought: With a floral nose of lemon custard, this deftly balanced Chardonnay has crisp flavors of
white peach and citrus on a nicely rounded, lightly viscous palate with some bright acidity on the finish.
