Sour cherries and dried herbs on the nose, as well as peppercorns. It’s juicy and medium-bodied with soft tannins and a peppery finish. A blend of syrah, cabernet sauvignon and malbec. Drink now. —C.N.
Deep, dark fruit notes and mineral elements of turned earth mark the aromatics. The palate shows gobs of ripe red and black berry fruits, hints of mocha and dark chocolate with a touch of exotic spice. There is excellent length on the finish, and this wine definitely over-delivers for value. —C.P.
A cascade of violets and lavender gives way to wet stone and crushed blackberries as the 2022 Red Blend opens in the glass. This is juicy in character, with a balance of tart wild berry fruits and perfumed inner florals. Hints of spiced orange and clove linger on as the 2022 finishes with staining length and gentle tannins. The value here is fantastic. This is a blend of 55% Syrah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Malbec. —E.G.
What We Thought: This elegant Syrah-based blend is silky smooth and full-bodied with ripe blackberry fruit, along with almost dramatic notes of dark chocolate and peppery spice, all buoyed by some very supple tannins.
