Pouring a bright transparent red hue, the 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo Ochetti is attractive and expressive on the nose, with pure notes of wild strawberries, fresh flowers, dusty earth, and fresh herbs. The palate is also nicely detailed, with refreshing acidity, fine tannins, and a citrus-noted finish. A very nicely styled Langhe Nebbiolo, it should hold up well over the next 4-5 years.
What We Thought: Big aromas of black cherry and spice lead to a light, clear garnet color that belies the power of this firmly structured Nebbiolo that has a medium-bodied palate filled with more black cherry fruit along with notes of licorice and black pepper and finishing with classic Nebbiolo tannins.
