A true Burgundy in many ways. This Fleurie shows very similar characteristics to a fine Moulin à Vent with abundant ripe almost macerated fruit and rich, structured tannins. This is a truly age-worthy Beaujolais.
A fresh and focused Fleurie with plums, red cherries, violets and a touch of moss on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with a creamy texture and a serious savory undertone to the fruit.
Subtlety that doesn't go unnoticed is the strength of this Fleurie made from 65-year-old vines. Deep ruby in color, this wine has a perfumed nose of dried cranberry, rosehip, red plum, violet blossom and dried hay. On the palate the wine has slightly grippy tannin with some concentration on the mid- to back palate.
Here's What We Thought:
Perfumed and irresistibly juicy, this Fleurie bursts with wild strawberry, ripe cherry and violet, followed by a savory hint of granite and spice. Old-vine depth gives it a silky core and quiet power beneath the floral charm. Fresh, elegant and dangerously drinkable, yet serious enough to linger and evolve in the glass. Pairs perfectly with herbed roast chicken, mushroom risotto, classic French steak-frites, or a wedge of nutty Comté when you want to keep things simple but delicious.🍷
