From the estate's Tenuta San Giovanni Vineyard, this is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc aged in oak for 16 months. The Tolaini 2019 Valdisanti is quite generous and rich, with thick layers of dark fruit, black cherry, pencil shaving, tar, and licorice. This is a proud and beautiful Tuscan red. —M.L.
What We Thought: This elegant red offers aromas and flavors of ripe plum, blackberry, black currant, leather, and licorice with a touch of vanilla and spice from the French oak. Beautifully balanced with fine-grained tannins gracing the long, lingering finish.
