Calafuria Salento — especially the 2024 vintage — is a good representation of what modern Puglian Rosé can be: a coastal, sun-inflected rosato made from a native southern grape (Negroamaro), balanced to express freshness, fruit and Mediterranean minerality.
Here's What We Thought:
Coral-pink with bright, fresh aromas of grapefruit, peach, and soft florals. Crisp, dry, and light-to-medium bodied, it shows plenty of juicy citrus on the palate. A light salty minerality adds that lovely coastal feel. A vibrant Rosé you can enjoy with almost anything—think light pastas, risotto, vegetable dishes, shellfish, fresh cheeses…or simply with a good book and great company.
