A rich, opulent wine, this is full of dark tannins and powerful fruit. It’s a big wine with licorice and dense wood flavors that give a smoky character and reflect some serious extraction. The wine needs to smooth out to showcase its concentrated richness. Drink from 2024. —R.V.
What We Thought: This very approachable "Right Bank" blend of 79% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Malbec has a nose of bramble and cassis and a medium- to full-bodied palate filled with ripe, soft blackberry fruit and light notes of dark chocolate and espresso, finishing with firm but supple tannins that promise future improvement in the cellar.
