A blend of a number of Haut-Médoc estates owned by the Borie family, the wine is spicy, ripe with firm tannins wrapped inside a comfortable richness. At this stage, the wood is showing, of course, but so is the ripe black fruit. —R.V.
What We Thought: From the Borie family of Ducru-Beaucaillou fame, this Haut-Médoc overdelivers in every way. Plush, ripe black fruit, a touch of spice, and silky tannins make it immediately appealing, yet it has enough structure to impress even the most traditional Bordeaux fan. Polished and ready to enjoy tonight with grilled meats or a rich stew.
