The aromas of toast, black spice and juicy blackberries are sustained by this structured wine. Its texture shows concentration and dark tannins. The wine's density and concentration are impressive. Drink from 2028. - Editors' Choice
Mineral, iron, fine cassis and cocoa powder on the nose. This is very well-textured on the palate, showing elegance and refinement with a medium body and a linear, juicy finish. Delicious now, but can hold, too.
Lively on initial impact with the bright red fruits to the fore, juicy and alive, giving a shot of acidity and brightness on the palate - really so joyful and inspiring before the tannins come in and gently frame the fruit towards the long, slightly spiced ending with clove and cinnamon flavours. Such St-Estèphe terroir markers here and you're getting that more than anything else giving it a great signature. I like the simplicity of this, it's not trying too hard with salinity and a touch of austerity showing the youth and minerality in the tongue-scrapingly clean finish. Refreshing and compelling.
Juicy and lively, bright and vibrant with a crisp texture to the red berry fruit with creamy sides and a hint of graphite and wet stone underneath. It loses some oomph and impact towards the finish just tapering out but the initial expression was nice and it ends with a cool note. Might need some more time or might just need to be enjoyed in its youth for a light, delicate but fruit-forward style.
What We Thought: An expressive nose of cedar and cassis yields to an ultra-smooth, full-bodied palate of ripe blackberry and black cherry with notes of dark chocolate and vanilla, supported by soft, well-integrated tannins.
