The 2021 Malbec Gaia from Gualtallary, Uco Valley, was aged for 10 months in barrels. Purple in the glass. The expressive nose presents notes of fresh plum, violet, and geranium with gentle hints of cedar and herbs. On the palate, this is lean with finely-grained tannins, bold flavor, and a juicy flow. Floral aromas linger at the back of the mouth. This is an Uco Malbec made in a well-judged, relaxed style. —J.H.
