A single-vineyard wine from this northern Beaujolais appellation, this is named for the Capitans who ruled Saint-Amour in the Middle Ages. The wine is muscular with important tannins. It has spice, acidity, and dark coffee flavors that will soften as the wine matures. Drink from 2024. —R.V.
