Ripe strawberries, red cherries, roses and fresh herbs on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied with good minerality. Soft tannins. Good purity of fruit here with background notes of rosemary and cocoa powder. A hint of vanilla pokes through at the finish. Sustainable. Drink or hold. _J.S.
What We Thought: The nose leans cool-climate Pinot—bright cherry, wild strawberry, a little forest floor, and a whisper of baking spice. The palate is silky and balanced, layering red fruit with a touch of cola and savory earth, backed by gentle tannins and just enough acidity to keep it lively. It drinks like a “real bottle” Pinot—polished, clean, and surprisingly serious—perfect with roast chicken, salmon, mushrooms… or honestly, anything you’d normally justify opening a $40 Pinot for. —Mat McGraw
This well-balanced, well-structured and handsomely complex wine emphasizes ripe plum and red-cherry flavors and accents them with subtle cinnamon, cedar and mint notes. Light tannins and a medium to full body lend a mouthfilling texture while lively acidity adds a fresh lift. — J.G.
