The winery describes Il Favot as essentially a “baby Barolo with pedigree” — crafted from Barolo terroir but built for earlier enjoyment and vibrancy. Intense ruby red in the glass with garnet-coloured reflections. Dried strawberry, red plum, candied raspberry, violet, fresh rose, aniseed, tobacco, cedar, and sandalwood on the nose. On the palate, it presents itself with a medium body, silky tannins and lively acidity – cherry, raspberry, liquorice, black tea, leather and a mineral tension that lingers for minutes.
A graceful and elegant nebbiolo with aromas of cinnamon, wild strawberries, dried cherries and camphor. Full-bodied, it shows density and velvety tannins with flavors of dried cherries and oranges. Brilliant finish sustained by crisp acidity. Drink or hold.—A.F.
Limpid and pretty aromas highlight red currant and strawberry with earthy brushwood and a touch of vanilla. The palate is creamy, with Nebbiolo’s sandy-grained tannins adding tactile tension. Balsamic notes tinge the red berry core, and a whiff of rose surfaces on the finish. Concentrated acidity is pleasantly puckering.
