This is linear and so racy with a structure, length, and focused energy that takes you long and deep. It is medium-bodied and has dried strawberry, citrus, and spice. Tight at the end. Classicism with transparency. Drink after 2029.
What We Thought: A clear garnet color belies this wine’s weight and structure. With notes of black cherry and almonds on the nose, the palate is medium-bodied with big black cherry flavors along with notes of fruitcake, baking spice, and a little licorice, finishing with firm, well-structured tannins.
A beam of cherry and red currant courses through this racy red, revealing flashes of rose and wild herbs with a mineral underpinning. This is persistent, with a long aftertaste that emphasizes the pure fruit. Best from 2026 through 2042. —B.S.
