This wine is rich, supple, and full-bodied, with aromas of boysenberry, huckleberry, potpourri, and mocha vanilla cream on the nose. The flavors in the midpalate are black currant preserve, chili-infused dark chocolate, orange marmalade intertwined with sweet cigars, dried herbs, and grippy dry tannins. —T.P.
What We Thought: Blackberry and plum on the nose lead to a very ripe, full-bodied palate that, as promised, delivers big flavors of mocha and dark chocolate on the palate along with notes of espresso, baking spice, and a touch of vanilla, finishing with only the smoothest of tannins.
