I was impressed by this humble Merlot-driven red blend’s quality and price. It is lithe and nimble, with crisp acidity and a clean mouthfeel. Mulberries and lavender dominate an aromatic set that also includes vanilla and dried leaves. Black cherry and thyme flavors are joined by a trace of balsa. —M.A.
