The wine is a brilliant ruby red with attractive depth, exhibiting alcohol- and fruit-rich aromas in its youth that mellow with bottle aging into ripe plum layered over a subtle grassy note. The palate is dry, soft, and well-balanced, finishing with a pleasing bitter twist and good aromatic length.
Dangerous kind of delicious. You want to think about all the layers and complexity, but it's just too drinkable. Like that book you meant to study but ended up devouring in one sitting. The plush fruit keeps you coming back for one more sip. There's serious wine underneath all that charm, but it's having too much fun to be properly serious.—J.P.
Here's What We Thought:
“Terre di San Leonardo” literally means the lands of San Leonardo, a nod to the estate’s home in the Alpine foothills of Trentino, right under the Dolomites (not your usual Cabernet spot). In the glass, it’s bright ruby and super inviting. Think fresh red berries, a hint of green olive, and some earthy vibes that keep things interesting. Medium-bodied with a nice, savory finish, it’s an easy match for pasta, or grilled meats. It's one of those wines you open “just to try” and end up going back for another pour. 🍷
