This full-bodied Châteauneuf is at once rich and seriously structured, and will need a bit of time in the bottle to resolve. Plenty of summer flower aromas, and the ample finish is very well balanced. Drink or hold. —S.P.
This wine reveals a dense, ripe bouquet of licorice, spices, dark berries, and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, structured, and extracted, it's dense with a fleshy core of fruit and has an assertive tannic frame that paves the way to a long but dry finish. It's a good effort.
What We Thought: Very robust by Châteuneuf standards with a ripe, full-bodied palate of black cherry and blackberry fruit, notes of vanilla, and a little Provençial spice with a touch of licorice supported by supple tannins and light, food-friendly acids.
